The episode opens with a young boy riding his dirt bike through the desert before encountering a tarantula. Meanwhile, Walt visits Hank Schrader's new DEA office, feigning distress over his failing marriage while installing listening devices on a computer and picture frame. After clearing Lydia of suspicion, she proposes the train heist. The crew blocks a railroad crossing with a dump truck driven by Patrick Kuby. While Mike acts as lookout, Walt, Jesse, and Todd drain methylamine into a buried tank, replacing it with water to maintain weight. A good samaritan pushes the truck off the tracks too early, but the team succeeds. As they celebrate, the young boy from the opening scene appears; Todd waves back before shooting him dead.
